The Office of the Attorney General in Virginia seeks an experienced civil litigation attorney to serve as Assistant Attorney General in the General Civil Unit. The role offers public service, work-life balance, and an attractive compensation package.

You will defend the Commonwealth, its agencies and officials in state and federal courts, conducting legal research, pleadings, discovery, and court appearances, with opportunities for mentorship within the unit.

Formación

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a challenging caseload and time management.
• Ability to supervise others and work independently within a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and adjust priorities without close supervision.

Responsabilidades

• Defend the Commonwealth and its agencies in state and federal courts.
• Litigate civil matters ranging from personal injury to constitutional rights.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, briefs, and memoranda.
• Handle discovery including e-discovery and motions practice.
• Provide legal advice, attend court, and perform trial and appellate work; mentor colleagues.
