Job summary

RS&H is seeking a Civil Field Engineer / CEI Inspector to support transportation construction in the Novi (Brighton) area. Graduating May 2027, you will monitor on-site activities, inspect materials, and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents on road and bridge projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field from ABET-accredited university.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have a Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Must obtain any required certifications and pass tests for the position in the specified time frames.

Responsibilities

• Maintain detailed records of contractors daily operations, including manpower, equipment, methods, and events affecting work.
• Monitor work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies.
• Monitor erosion control plan and identify discrepancies.
• Perform sampling and testing of materials and completed work.
• Verify dimensions of prepared and completed work.
• Inspect construction work and conduct field tests.
• Track/measure completed work quantities for payment.
• Perform survey checks.
