Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a CEI Inspector to perform construction engineering inspections on roadway and bridge projects. You will verify materials, workmanship, and compliance with plans, specs, and standards while maintaining thorough project documentation.

The role requires reading plans, field calculations, and strong communication to support project teams. A valid driver’s license and related certifications are preferred, with opportunities for professional development and career

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18–36 months of transportation inspection experience with a State Highway Agency or consulting firm.
• Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, transportation, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• GDOT certifications (WECS, Field Concrete Technician) desirable.
• Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and standards.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction, alignment, depth, and overall quality.
• Inspect structural components and operations including foundations, excavation, piling, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, culverts, and backfill.
• Monitor and inspect traffic control devices and erosion/sediment control measures.
• Conduct field measurements and calculations for pay quantities and maintain contract records.
• Prepare reports and maintain inspection records of project activities and findings.
• Supervise or direct inspectors, as assigned.
• Participate in project meetings and closeout activities as required.
