Job summary

RS&H, Inc. in Southport, FL is seeking a Civil Field Engineering/CEI Inspector to monitor on-site construction activities, inspect materials, and verify compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents on road and bridge projects. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualified candidates will have an ABET-accredited degree, the ability to read plans, and a valid driver’s license; preferred credentials include EIT, DOT, OSHA certifications, and prior inspection experience.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor on-site construction activities and inspect materials for compliance.
• Maintain detailed daily records of operations, personnel, equipment, and events.
• Verify dimensions and track quantities for payment and closeout.
• Perform field tests and surveys as required.
• Ensure adherence to erosion and traffic control plans and safety procedures.
