Job summary

State of Minnesota is seeking Civil/ Construction/ Environmental/ Geo/ Structural Engineering Student Workers for the Summer 2027 program. Positions support MnDOT offices with pre-engineering tasks and provide hands-on transportation experience.

Locations vary across Twin Cities metro and Greater Minnesota. Applicants must be undergrad students in relevant engineering fields and must carry multiple classes per semester. Interviews begin in late 2026.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be an undergraduate student currently pursuing a degree in Civil, Construction, Environmental, Geo, or Structural Engineering OR Land Management.
• Student must be taking two or more classes per semester. You will be asked to complete an education verification form prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist MnDOT offices with pre-engineering work as assigned by the hiring supervisor.
• Gain hands-on transportation work experience through a variety of assignments.
• Contribute to projects in construction, surveying, design, project management, bridge maintenance, materials, environmental stewardship, water resources, hydraulics, and traffic.
