Job summary

Wallace Design Collective is seeking a Civil Summer Intern to join our civil engineering team on real site development projects nationwide. You’ll gain hands-on experience in site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management using AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS tools.

You’ll be integrated into active project teams, tackle real design challenges, and learn through mentorship as you contribute to projects across commercial, educational, healthcare, and land development sectors.

Qualifications

• Education: Pursuing a Bachelor or Master in Civil Engineering.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or GIS is a plus.
• Mindset: Strong analytical problem-solving, eager to learn, proactive in asking questions, and detail-oriented.
• Communication: Clear written and verbal communication with a team-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Site Layout & Civil Drafting: Assist in preparing site development plans with layouts, utilities, and grading using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Stormwater & Hydrology Design: Model stormwater, size detention systems, and design green infrastructure.
• Grading & Earthwork Analysis: Work with engineers to establish finished surface grades and ensuring balance.
• Permitting & Agency Coordination: Exposure to local codes, zoning, and environmental permitting processes.
• Collaboration & Field Visits: Participate in team meetings and potential site visits.
