Wallace Design Collective is seeking a Civil Summer Intern to work directly with our civil engineering team on real commercial, educational, healthcare, and land development projects.

You will gain hands-on experience in site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management using industry-standard tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D. This paid internship emphasizes mentorship, real project involvement, and potential full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Technical skills: Coursework in fluid mechanics, hydrology, or surveying; familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or GIS.
• Mindset: Strong analytical problem-solving, eager to learn, proactive in asking questions, detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Site Layout & Civil Drafting: prepare site development plans, utility routing, and grading using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Stormwater & Hydrology Design: model runoff, size detention, design green infrastructure/BMPs.
• Grading & Earthwork Analysis: establish grades, design retainage systems, evaluate cut/fill balances.
• Permitting & Agency Coordination: exposure to codes, zoning, and environmental permitting.
• Collaboration & Field Visits: participate in intern learning sessions and project meetings.
