Job summary

Parkhill is seeking a part-time, non-exempt engineering assistant to support project teams in Arlington, TX. Under close supervision, you will assist engineers, CADD staff, and the project team with graphic materials, design sketches, study materials, and permit applications.

You will participate in quantity takeoffs, basic design calculations, and preparation of proposals, while gaining exposure to typical construction engineering tasks in a leading Southwest architectural and engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Student status in Civil Engineering or an appropriate related discipline at an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction phase services as directed by project engineer.
• Assists with checking engineering calculations.
• Assists with fundamental project tasks such as quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic design calculations.
• Assists in preparing marketing proposals.
• Assists in collecting field data and test samples.
• Assists in maintaining the technical library.
• Performs routine filing and delivery of documents.
• Proficient in the use of computers, computer aided design and other relevant software and hardware tools.
