Job summary

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is seeking a candidate to assist in development, operation, and maintenance of civil engineering CEEN instructional and research laboratories. The role centers on managing CEEN laboratories, enforcing safety rules, and supporting the operation and upgrade of lab equipment.

You will assist in student instruction related to CEEN equipment, ensure supplies, and help develop the lab budget and upgrade plans. Some shop support and vehicle operation may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable STEM field.
• Two (2) years of experience in civil engineering testing labs or related work.
• Substitution: an Associate’s with four years exp or a Master’s degree may be considered.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the CEEN laboratories.
• Ensure safety rules in the laboratory are followed per TAMU-CC policies.
• Assist in installation and initial operation of new CEEN lab equipment.
• Maintain CEEN lab equipment and plan upgrades.
• Assist in instruction of students on CEEN lab equipment.
• Ensure sufficient supplies for CEEN lab equipment.
• Develop and maintain operating budget for CEEN labs.
• Assist in construction of models or materials for CEEN lab equipment.
• Assist in operations of the mechanical engineering shop as needed.
• Safely operate university vehicles and machinery.
