Job summary

MacKay invites a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Federal Way, WA team for 10-12 weeks in summer 2027. You will work with experienced engineers on real projects, gaining hands-on experience and developing practical skills to grow as an engineer.

Applicants should be enrolled in civil engineering or related program, preferably entering senior year, with a GPA of at least 3.2. On-site internship with mentorship and exposure to water resources, land development and municipal projects.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in civil or related engineering program with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
• Candidates should be pursuing a civil/environmental engineering degree or related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in civil engineering.
• Willingness to learn new software and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop practical experience in resolving engineering problems and applying standards.
• Review plans, site layouts, specs to ensure compliance and safety.
• Gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and project coordination.
• Meet deadlines and communicate effectively within a team.
• Assist in engineering design and cost estimation for project portions.
