Job summary

MacKay in Pasco, WA is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program in 2027. You will work with experienced engineers on real projects, gaining hands-on experience across water resources, energy, land development, and municipal work.

Currently enrolled or recent graduate in civil/environmental engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.2, you will develop practical skills while supporting project teams and adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled or a recent graduate with a BS in civil/environmental engineering or related field.
Minimum GPA 3.2.
Strong writing, communication and customer service skills.
Interest in civil engineering career and willingness to learn new software.

Responsibilities

Develop experience in solving engineering problems and applying approved methods and standards.
Review plans, site layouts, specs or construction methods for compliance and safety.
Gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Meet deadlines and collaborate in a team environment.
Prepare engineering designs and specifications for project portions.
Prepare quantities, costs, and labor estimates for feasibility.
Assist in analyzing complex engineering data and calculations.
