MacKay is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Federal Way team for a 10-12 week summer internship in 2027. You will work with experienced engineers on varied projects, gaining hands‑on experience and developing practical skills.

We value students entering their senior year and provide mentorship, real project exposure, and opportunities to grow within a multidisciplinary firm. Eligible candidates are enrolled in civil/environmental programs and eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in civil engineering or related program.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Interest in pursuing civil engineering as a career.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Detail oriented with good organization.
• Able to work both independently and in a team.
• Eager to learn new software and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop practical experience and apply engineering methods.
• Review plans, site layouts, specifications for compliance.
• Gain hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Meet deadlines and collaborate in a team.
• Prepare project designs, specs, and timely updates.
• Assist in cost estimates and material quantities.
• Analyze complex engineering data and calculations.
