Job summary

STV Incorporated in Chicago invites a Civil Engineering Intern to contribute to meaningful projects during the summer. The hybrid role requires at least three days onsite, with preference for a three-month commitment.

You will assist from conceptual design through to completion and gain exposure to design software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D. The ideal candidate is pursuing an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree and has interest in architecture, engineering, and construction management.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.
• Knowledge of MicroStation, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and/or Open Roads Designer is preferred.
• Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry is a plus.
• This position not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing civil engineering projects from conceptualization to completion.
• Collaborate with architects, environmental engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address project issues.
• Support feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, narratives, and development applications.
• Develop engineering designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Learn and apply current engineering standards and procedures.
