Job summary

GBA Companies invites civil engineering students to join our summer internship in the Bridge group, based in Lenexa, KS and Chesterfield, MO. Interns will work alongside seasoned engineers, using Civil3D, AutoCAD and Excel, and gain exposure to bridge design and transportation projects.

You will rotate through tasks, participate in field inspections, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team while receiving mentorship and guidance to grow your professional skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Finished at least two years of coursework.
• GPA 2.7 strongly preferred.
• Experience with transportation/bridge projects is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and 3D modeling of bridges.
• Support quality control processes and follow client standards.
• Assist with design calculations and geometric layout.
• Help prepare plan quantities and cost estimates.
• Participate in field assignments such as construction inspections.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team.
• Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
