Job summary

GBA Companies invites civil engineering students to join this summer as Civil Engineering Intern - Bridge group in Lenexa, KS and Chesterfield, MO. Interns gain hands-on experience and work with industry experts in a collaborative environment, using Civil3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Excel preferred.
  • Experience with transportation or bridge projects preferred.
  • GPA 2.7 strongly preferred.
  • Finished at least two years of school.
  • Active in campus, community activities with strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design and 3D modeling of bridges.
  • Support quality control processes and follow client design standards.
  • Assist with design calculations and geometric layout.
  • Help prepare plan quantities and cost estimates.
  • Participate in field assignments such as construction inspections.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team.
  • Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
