You will work alongside engineers, designers, and PMs, learn the land development process, and receive mentorship and exposure to real client work in a collaborative office environment.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Eng or related field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter attitude; able to work both independently and with a team.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D; training provided if not proficient.
• Curiosity and motivation to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Interest in civil site design and land development.

About the Role

Bohler’s office in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world site design projects. As a Summer 2027intern, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process, from concept to construction. By working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you will gain hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed‑use developments.

What You’ll Do

• Experience the day‑to‑day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
• Enhance your technical skills with hands‑on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design:
  • Concept plans
  • Grading plans
  • Stormwater management plans
  • Utility system plans
  • Soil erosion and sediment control plans
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements
