Bohler's Miami, FL office invites motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) to learn the complete site development process from concept to construction. You will support design teams using AutoCAD Civil 3D on commercial and residential projects.

As a Summer 2027 intern, gain hands-on experience, mentorship from experienced engineers, and exposure to zoning research, permitting, and field observations while contributing to real client work in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter attitude with ability to work independently and in teams.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (training provided if not proficient).
• Curiosity and motivation to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
• Learn the stages of land development and site design process.
• Enhance technical skills with AutoCAD Civil 3D for concept, grading, stormwater, utilities and erosion control plans.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to drive projects forward.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design improvements.

About the Role

Bohler’s office in Miami, FL is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real‑world site design projects. As a Summer 2027intern, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process, from concept to construction. By working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you will gain hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed‑use developments.

What You’ll Do

• Experience the day‑to‑day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
• Enhance your technical skills with hands‑on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design:
  • Concept plans
  • Grading plans
  • Stormwater management plans
  • Utility system plans
  • Soil erosion and sediment control plans
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward
