Job summary

IMEG Corp. seeks a Civil Engineering Intern in Fairfax, VA for a 10–12 week summer program. You’ll work with experienced engineers on design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage design, gaining hands-on project exposure in a 100% employee-owned firm.

You'll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, assist with budgets and documentation, and contribute to client projects across transportation and municipal markets while learning the civil engineering trade.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years completed.
• Strong interest in design consulting and civil practice.
• Proficient with CAD software and BIM; good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects per code and IMEG standards.
• Research resources for commercially available equipment.
• Assist with client relations, project notes, and doc management for permanent records.
• Coordinate design and scheduling with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and other teams.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions; monitor progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy prior to final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations as required by the contract.
