Job summary

Fehr Graham in Rockford, IL is seeking Civil Engineering students for a Summer 2027 internship in our Engineering department. You will work on a diverse range of projects under a Project Manager, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to municipal and environmental engineering.

This role offers CAD work, blueprint reading practice, design calculations, and field or office assignments to build your technical and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate four-year degree in Civil Engineering.
• Familiar with reading blueprints.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Report to a Fehr Graham Project Manager on one or several projects.
• Assist with construction observation and quantity measurement.
• Review and edit engineering plans to Fehr Graham standards.
• Work in office or field; sharpen CAD skills and basic design calculations.
• Collaborate with engineers and environmental scientists.
• Develop leadership and autonomy.
