Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Nashville, TN is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our office and support design and development of civil aviation infrastructure projects. This opportunity provides hands-on experience and mentorship.

You will assist with AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings, basic calculations, data review, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams during the Summer 2027 internship. This entry-level role offers exposure to codes, standards, and the global AtkinsRéalis network.

Qualifications

• Must have completed 60 hours toward a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• Experience is not required if enrolled in an associated degree program; internship targets students in related technical fields.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with design and development of civil aviation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D or other design software.
• Perform basic engineering calculations for grading, drainage, utilities, runways, taxiways, or site development projects.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, material estimates, cost calculations, reviewing contractor submittals, and RFIs.
• Review survey data, maps, and project specifications.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, permit applications, and construction documents.
• Research applicable codes, regulations, and design standards.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
