Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Nashville, TN seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to support design and development of civil aviation infrastructure. You will assist engineers, draft drawings, perform basic calculations, and help prepare reports and permits.

No prior experience required if you are pursuing an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree and have completed ~60 hours toward that degree. This internship offers mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• 60 credit hours toward ABET-accredited civil engineering degree by start of internship.
• Currently enrolled in Associate's or Bachelor's in civil engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with design and development of civil aviation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D or other design software.
• Perform basic engineering calculations for grading, drainage, utilities, runways, taxiways, or site development projects.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, material estimates, cost calculations, reviewing contractor submittals, and RFIs.
• Review survey data, maps, and project specifications.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, permit applications, and construction documents.
• Research applicable codes, regulations, and design standards.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
