Job summary

Schnabel Engineering is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern in Chadds Ford, PA to support our growing practice. The role emphasizes applying professional principles to real problems under the supervision of senior staff, with a schedule from May through August 2027.

Responsibilities include geotechnical investigations, design of walls/excavation supports, hydrology studies, construction plans, and field/office work, with some travel.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor's program.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with direction as part of a team.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks including office and field work.
• Desire and ability to work outdoors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in geotechnical investigations and analyses, retaining wall/excavation support design, hydrology and hydraulic studies; and reinforced concrete design.
• Preparing construction plans.
• Supporting advanced earthquake engineering analyses.
• Performing construction observation and materials testing.
• Some travel may be required.
