Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a civil engineering student intern to join our Civil and Environmental Business Sector in Olathe, Kansas. The role is a temporary full-time position at 40 hours weekly for 3 months, with evergreen potential. Local/regional travel of 20-40% is expected to support project work.

You'll assist engineers and project managers with day-to-day tasks, develop designs, and perform feasibility studies while growing in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in civil engineering.
• Strong MS Word and Excel skills.
• Basic experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Revit preferred.
• Willingness to learn new software and Power Delivery concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks.
• Use computer programs to develop detailed designs.
• Undertake technical and feasibility studies.
• Ensure that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Perform work under professional engineering staff.
• Handle basic design challenges and refer complex issues to senior staff.
• Travel 20-40% for project-related work.
• Collaborate with team and communicate effectively.
