Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a civil engineering student intern to join our Civil and Environmental Business Sector. This internship runs for 3 months at full-time (40 hours per week) and may extend as needed.

The successful candidate will gain practical experience in project tasks, computer-aided design, and feasibility studies while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with opportunities to learn and grow within the firm.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a program to receive a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably civil engineering.
• Must have good skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with drafting programs, particularly AutoCAD and Revitis preferred.
• Willingness to learn new programs and skills in Power Delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks as required for successful project delivery.
• Use computer programs to develop detailed designs
• Undertake technical and feasibility studies
• Ensure that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Perform work under professional engineering staff.
• Handle basic design challenges but will refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
