Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc seeks a civil engineering student intern to support the Civil and Environmental Business Sector. This is a temporary full-time internship of 40 hours per week for 3 months, with potential extension.

Candidate must be eligible to work out of a GAI office. The role involves assisting engineers and project managers, developing detailed designs with computer programs, and performing feasibility studies while ensuring compliance with client, environmental, and safety requirements

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in engineering, preferably civil engineering.
• Must have strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with drafting programs, especially AutoCAD and Revit, preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn new software and Power Delivery related tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks for successful delivery.
• Use computer programs to develop detailed designs.
• Undertake technical and feasibility studies.
• Ensure work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Perform work under professional engineering staff.
• Handle basic design challenges and escalate complex issues.
• Travel 20-40% (1-2 days per week) for project-related work.
