Civil Engineering Intern: Design & Field Oversight

Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. is expanding its Marquette, MI office and seeking Civil Engineers to support planning, design, analysis and construction-related activities. Responsibilities will vary with experience and may include field assignments, development of drawings, specs, bid documents, and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willing to travel on temporary assignments as necessary, including field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design drawings in Civil 3D with oversight from senior staff.
• Provide construction oversight in the field as required.
• Assist in engineering calculations and reporting.
• Develop construction drawings, technical specifications, bid documents and project schedules.
• Assist in development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Period travel to project sites and other offices as required, including overnight travel.
