Zusammenfassung

GEI Consultants in Portland, ME seeks an motivated civil engineering intern to support project analysis, field work, GIS, CAD, and data compilation across geotechnical, water resources and structural disciplines.

You will assist with CAD files, GIS mapping, data analysis, and field observations at active sites as you learn from GEI professionals in a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

Qualifikationen

• Pursuit of a BS or MS in civil engineering, or similar, with coursework completed in soils, structures, hydrology, and hydraulics. Experience as an intern is a plus.
• Working knowledge of GIS and CAD. Experience with Civil 3D is a plus.
• Self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Support work in geotechnical engineering (building foundations, dam safety) and water resources (hydrology and hydraulics).
• Assist with preparation of CAD files, develop spreadsheets and databases, conduct technical analysis.
• Assist with project mapping in GIS and project drafting in CAD.
• Perform field work including field observation and data collection, soil and water sample collection, drill rig observation, and other field investigations.
