Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking engineering students to join our Terrell, Texas office in 2027 for an internship. This on-site role provides hands-on experience in civil and environmental engineering, with exposure to leading software tools.

You will work under supervision to analyze deliverables, assist with design, and learn regulatory processes while supporting project managers across disciplines. This program emphasizes real-world practice and professional growth.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree (BS or MS) in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Pursuing an engineering degree with strong technical foundations.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
• Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions.
• Develop familiarity with regulations and Kimley-Horn practices and standards.
• Interns will learn one or more software programs: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS.
