Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Charlotte, NC is seeking engineering students for an internship in our Charlotte South Park office. This is not a remote position.

You will use AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D and other software to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables, while assisting with pre-construction civil design and permitting.

You will learn regulatory practices and collaborate across disciplines to help realize clients’ visions for future built environments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited engineering degree in a relevant field.
• Majors include Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering; plus Engineering Technology.
• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited program for Bachelor's or Master's degree.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, produce, and QC deliverables using technical software.
• Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, permitting, and analysis.
• Assist project managers and collaborate across disciplines to realize clients' visions.
• Learn software programs: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and GIS.
• Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and company standards.
