Mead & Hunt is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for its Portland, ME office. The internship runs May/June 2027 to August/September 2027 and provides hands‑on experience supporting design and inspection on airport projects across Maine and neighboring states.
The intern will work with engineers, technicians, and construction managers on engineering tasks, drafting, and site observations, gaining exposure to FAA standards and project documentation.

As a result of our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a limited-term, full-time Civil Engineering Intern based in our Portland, ME office. This position will provide hands‑on experience supporting both engineering design efforts and construction inspection on airport projects throughout Maine and at various project sites in neighboring states. The internship is expected to begin in May/June 2027 and conclude in August/September 2027.
This intern will be responsible for assisting engineers, technicians, and construction managers with civil engineering projects in the following areas:
A valid driver’s license, the ability to pass background checks to gain access to airport sites, and frequent travel to construction project sites approximately up to 50% of the time (may also include overnight stays) will be required.
Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college‑level coursework in civil engineering or construction management from an accredited college or university by date of hire.

Hourly Rate Range: $18.00 - $25.00 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
