Job summary

Trout Unlimited is hiring an Engineer to support post-fire recovery and watershed restoration across the ARP in Northern Colorado. The role involves planning, design, and construction oversight of bridges, drainage structures, and roads, coordinating with TU, USFS, and other partners.

The engineer will manage designs, lead field measurements, and ensure compliance with Forest Service standards while promoting collaboration among federal agencies, non-profits, and local stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in civil or environmental engineering, or 3 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Licensed PE in Colorado preferred but not required; license within 1 year required.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Experience with natural landscapes and federal standards (e.g., NEPA, AASHTO).

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee civil engineering projects across ARP (Arapaho and Roosevelt NF, Pawnee NG).
• Manage consultants to meet deliverables and field implementation.
• Prepare plans/specs for new construction and existing infrastructure (roads, bridges, drainage, AOPs).
• Coordinate with USFS, TU, and partners; attend stakeholder meetings as SME.
• Provide technical advice to ensure contracts meet specs and requirements.
