Job summary

Bluebird Staffing is seeking a Civil Engineer for a full-time permanent role in Chicago. You will perform site development tasks, use AutoCAD Civil 3D for site plans and earthwork, and apply GIS for hydrologic analysis and municipal data management.

The position requires a 4+ year track record, a civil engineering degree, and an EIT certification. A PE license is preferred and a valid driver’s license is required. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders and help prepare bids and reports.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience working as a civil engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other relevant field required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.
• Active Professional Engineering License preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a current valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil site development tasks including due diligence, preliminary design, quantity take-offs, and estimating to respond to development client’s feasibility and site planning needs.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare site plans, bid packages, and earthwork calculations.
• Utilize GIS for hydrologic analysis, terrain analysis, and managing municipal infrastructure data.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather project specifications, technical requirements, and relevant information to ensure effective execution of project deliverable.
• Assist in the preparation of bid packages, proposals, technical reports, and other deliverables as needed.
• Offer insights and recommendations on value engineering opportunities to optimize project while maintaining quality standards and constructability.
