Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Denton, Texas seeks an experienced Civil Design Technician to join our Roadway team. You will develop concepts and perform preliminary and final design for roadway projects, creating technical drawings with CAD software and ensuring quality across complex plans.

This role requires CAD proficiency, teamwork, and the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will help maintain drawing databases and align with Kimley-Horn's standards and practices while supporting project

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred).
3+ years of relevant experience.
Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products.
Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter.
Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn.
Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

Develop concepts and perform preliminary and final roadway design.
Create technical drawings and plans using CAD software.
Quality-check drawings of substantial complexity and perform related calculations.
Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control.
May supervise and train CAD staff and maintain drawing database.
