EMH&T is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Public Works team in Columbus, OH. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver practical municipal solutions and support plan development using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 2–5 years' experience; a PE license is preferred. Strong communication and organization skills are essential as you work on multiple projects with internal teams and clients.

Formación

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of related work experience in civil/public works preferred.
  • PE license is desirable.

Responsabilidades

  • Prepare conceptual plans, exhibits and plan sets using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Assist with design calculations, plan details and specifications.
  • Oversee work prepared by others and participate in plan reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to meet zoning and drafting standards.
  • Support project scheduling and client communications.

Job Description

EMH&T is currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Public Works team located in Columbus, OH.


Our Public Works Engineers partner with colleagues across disciplines to create practical and innovative solutions that enhance municipal operations and serve community needs effectively.


Responsibilities

Work includes preparing conceptual plans, exhibits, and plan sets while utilizing AutoCAD C3D. May include drainage analysis, preparing surfaces, line work and contour drawings from survey data points; developing plan and profile drawings and details, grading, utility plans, storm sewers, roadways, required easements, access drives, parking and more, in accordance with local zoning standards and internal EMH&T drafting standards.


You may be responsible for planning and organizing workflow, coordinating and overseeing work prepared by others, developing design calculations and subsequent plan details and specifications, as well as assisting with plan reviews and modifications.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

  • 2-5 years experience.

  • Professional Engineering license, desired.

  • Work experience, including internships or co‑op experiences in civil, construction, or a related area and exposure to engineering consulting firm environment, preferred.
