Job summary

EMH&T, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Public Works team in Columbus, OH. You will help design municipal projects, prepare plans, and contribute to innovative solutions for community needs.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineering license, desired.
  • Internships or co-op in civil/construction and consulting preferred.

Job description

EMH&T is currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Public Works team located in Columbus, OH.


Our Public Works Engineers partner with colleagues across disciplines to create practical and innovative solutions that enhance municipal operations and serve community needs effectively.


Responsibilities

Work includes preparing conceptual plans, exhibits, and plan sets while utilizing AutoCAD C3D. May include drainage analysis, preparing surfaces, line work and contour drawings from survey data points; developing plan and profile drawings and details, grading, utility plans, storm sewers, roadways, required easements, access drives, parking and more, in accordance with local zoning standards and internal EMH&T drafting standards.


You may be responsible for planning and organizing workflow, coordinating and overseeing work prepared by others, developing design calculations and subsequent plan details and specifications, as well as assisting with plan reviews and modifications.
