ARCO a Family of Construction Companies in Chicago is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our design/build team. You will perform site due diligence, draft land development concepts in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and guide clients through initial project steps to bring buildings to life.

The role emphasizes analyzing stormwater, utility design, and working with internal/external stakeholders to define project direction.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or other Engineering or Design discipline.
• 2-8 years' of land planning experience in Chicago
• AutoCad Civil 3D experience creating AutoCAD Civil 3D templates and styles is a plus
• Ability to perform stormwater detention analysis and site utility design calculations independently
• Ability to read and understand local zoning codes, stormwater management codes, FEMA floodmaps, FWS wetland maps, record civil and survey drawings
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required. ARCO/Murray will support the pursuit of licensure for EIT and offer a $5,000 bonus for successful competition of PE license

Responsibilities

• Research and collect site-specific information to initiate the land development process and perform site investigative due diligence
• Design and draft multi-building land development concept plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D for commercial and industrial uses
• Prepare schematic site plan, grading, and utility plans to illustrate site developability based on learned constraints
• Perform stormwater detention analysis, site utility design, and earthwork analysis to best inform site planning effort for cost and constructability
• Meet with internal and external customers to review concept plans, discuss advantages to multiple approaches, and work to define direction of project with Design/Build contracting team
