Job summary

ARCO/Murray in Chicago seeks a Civil Engineer to drive the design/build land development process. You will perform site due diligence, draft concept plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D for commercial/industrial uses, and guide clients through initial steps to bring buildings to life.

The role involves analyzing stormwater, utilities, and earthwork, collaborating with internal and external clients, and shaping project direction with the Design/Build team.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–8 years' land planning experience in Chicago.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience creating templates and styles is a plus.
• Ability to perform stormwater detention analysis and site utility design calculations independently.
• Ability to read and understand local zoning codes, stormwater management codes, FEMA floodmaps, and related documents.
• PE license is a plus; ARCO/Murray will support licensure and offer a $5,000 bonus for PE.

Responsibilities

• Research and collect site-specific information to initiate the land development process and perform site due diligence.
• Design and draft multi-building land development concept plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D for commercial and industrial uses.
• Prepare schematic site plan, grading, and utility plans to illustrate site developability based on learned constraints.
• Perform stormwater detention analysis, site utility design, and earthwork analysis to inform site planning and costs.
• Meet with internal and external customers to review concept plans and define project direction with Design/Build team.
