We are looking for a highly motivated Civil Engineer who is passionate about the construction process to join our Raleigh, North Carolina team. In this role you will work in close partnership with Project Managers to complete land development design, planning and permitting for Design/Build projects.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Attend meetings with Design/Build professionals and clients to understand project requirements
• Research and collect site specific due dilligence to initiate the land development process
• Design and draft land development plans for light industrial and self-storage commercial projects
• Review outside drawings and reports to assist Project Management team
• Perform site investigative due diligence and work with contracting team to value engineer sites
• Prepare schematic site plan, grading & utility plans to illustrate site developability based on site constraints
• Perform storm water detention analysis, site utility design, and earth work analysis to best inform site planning effort for cost and constructability
• Meet with customers to review concept plans, discuss advantages to multiple approaches, and work to define direction of project with Design/Build contracting team
• Coordinate and value engineer design plans with other disciplines (Geotech, structural, architecture, etc.)
  
  

Necessary Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• 2-4+ years' of full-time land development experience in a engineering firm
• EIT and/or intention of obtaining PE certification is preferred
• Computer skills: experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability and willingness to ask questions and think independently while working within a team
