Job description

Wiley|Wilson, with 180+ employee-owners across five offices, is looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to join our team in Richmond, Raleigh, Lynchburg, or Alexandria! This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of Local, State, and Federal Government projects while further growing your technical expertise and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Design civil systems including grading, drainage, utilities, and hydrology for site development projects.
2. Serve as the engineer of record for smaller projects, and support larger projects under senior engineer supervision.
3. Prepare engineering and stormwater management calculations, reports, and drawings.
4. Lead field investigations and support construction administration activities such as reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs.
5. Manage tasks through various stages of design, from concept to construction documents.
6. Collaborate effectively with clients, peers, and junior team members.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
2. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia, North Carolina, or ability to obtain reciprocity within three months.
3. 4-6 years of progressive experience in civil/site engineering design.
4. Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D.
5. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
6. Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with site development and stormwater management design.
• Familiarity with environmental permitting and knowledge of Virginia regulations.
