Job Details
- Lead civil engineering efforts for industrial land development projects from due diligence through construction completion.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate site development plans, grading plans, utility layouts, drainage systems, erosion control plans, and stormwater management designs.
- Perform site feasibility evaluations, including zoning analysis, utility availability, environmental constraints, and entitlement support.
- Coordinate with internal development, construction, architecture, and project management teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Manage outside engineering consultants and review engineering deliverables for quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
- Coordinate permitting efforts with local municipalities, regulatory agencies, and utility providers.
- Support site selection activities through technical evaluations and engineering due diligence.
- Review geotechnical reports, environmental studies, and survey information to identify project risks and opportunities.
- Assist with value engineering initiatives to improve constructability and project efficiency.
- Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, evaluating field conditions, and assisting with project closeout.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, engineering standards, and permitting requirements.
- Maintain project schedules while balancing multiple active developments.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 4–10+ years of experience in land development, civil engineering, or site development.
- Experience designing commercial, industrial, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or large-scale site development projects preferred.
- Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility infrastructure, roadway design, and permitting processes.
- Experience coordinating with municipalities, utility agencies, and regulatory authorities.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
- Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal engineering standards and development regulations.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a solutions-oriented mindset.
