Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage, Solid Waste Services, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to supervise the Engineering and Planning Division and act as Project Manager for large design and construction programs.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and eight years of progressive engineering experience, with at least two years in managing major capital projects; Alaska PE license and background checks required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and eight (8) years of progressively responsible engineering experience, two (2) years of which must involve managing large capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the activities of the Engineering and Planning Division.
• Serves as the Department’s Project Manager for large design and construction projects (over $100 Million).
• Coordinates with stakeholders, public advocacy groups, state and federal agencies, and other Municipal departments.
• Ensures environmental management and regulatory compliance at all active and closed sites.
