Qualifications

Job description

Managed all phases of professional engineering activities within Illinois for large telecom carriers. Maintained responsibility for all designs, reviewing, and approvals.

Designed and engineered telecommunications outside plant fiber optic networks. Including fronthaul, backhaul, and enterprise connectivity via underground and aerial methods. Knowledgeable in railroad, waterway, wetland, flood plain, bridge, highway crossings and traffic control plans.

Manage Small Cell Engineering Designs and Submittals

• Manage Field Surveying Team and Services.
• Assist with managing CAD Department

The Senior OSP Engineer is self-motivated and brings an innovative approach to solving problems and finding ways to enhance design and construction productivity

Supports projects over their entire life cycle, from bidding and estimating, design and engineering, construction and project close-out.

Ability to work with and help manage various engineering and fielding subcontractors ensuring quality and project compliance

Is familiar with client standards and processes and ensure that these are communicated to the design team and translated into standard company processes, procedures and technical bulletins Perform quality and safety reviews of outside plant design.

Will be the key company representative with clients on all technical issues. Qualifications :

Eight plus years of experience within telecommunications design and engineering (experience from an engineering consulting space would be an asset)

Experience with fiber optic network design

Knowledge of telecommunication design software (ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil-3D)

Able to work autonomously while still being able to collaborate with fellow colleagues and clients

The ability to take ownership of professional learning and growth

Understanding of the City of Chicago OUC / PCO engineering permitting process or have the ability to learn the process by working closely with the engineering team.

Professional Engineering Licensure from any additional state considered an asset FTTH Engineering and Structural Civil Engineering Knowledge : Additional Bonus but not a requirement

FTTH engineering experience would be an asset

Design of small cell foundations and miscellaneous support or mounting structures.

• Cast in place Man-Hole structures

Knowledge of Vaulted Structures within the City of Chicago our other related experience

On?site supervision of subcontractors as required

Experience with forming and shoring for general construction

Experience with OSHA standards, confined space, and other related standards, etc.

Previous experience with engineering and working within the Chicago freight tunnels

Process contractor submittals and shop drawings.

Proficient with AutoCAD and STAAD.PRO

AutoCAD Drafting : Provided all Civil & Structural drafting required for construction documents.

Capable of reviewing structural calculations but not necessary

Work with Structural PE to ensure all requirements are met and maintained throughout a projects scope
