We are seeking a Substation Civil/Structural Engineer to provide technical support and leadership within our Substation Design Team. This REMOTE WORK position requires demonstrated engineering and design competency, especially in utility or consulting environments for Electric Substation Projects up to 500 kV. Candidates with a PE or SE license are strongly preferred.

Overview

The role involves providing technical leadership and oversight of substation engineering and consulting services for clients across the US. Responsibilities include creating civil and structural design deliverables for projects of varying size, complexity, and voltage class. The candidate may prepare or guide the development of engineering deliverables, serve as project lead or reviewer, and mentor team members.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Utilizing industry standards and client guidelines to complete engineering designs.
  • Designing substation civil and structural components, including site development, foundations, structural steel, and equipment layouts.
  • Leading projects or reviewing work as an independent reviewer.
  • Providing technical support to clients and supporting business development.
  • Leading and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Supporting proposal creation and scope development.
  • Participating in project conceptualization, planning, and execution.
  • Performing calculations, preparing specifications, and coordinating design activities.
  • Developing processes and tools to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Conducting site visits and supporting construction activities as needed.
  • Supporting business development and marketing efforts.
  • Engaging in industry committees or additional technical activities.
  • Collaborating with project management for planning and updates.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience level varies: Senior Engineer I (7+ years), Senior Engineer II (10+ years), Senior Engineer III (15+ years, PE required).
  • Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer registration strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with relevant codes, standards, and software such as STAAD or RISA.
  • Experience in electric utilities, power generation, or related industries is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and client interaction skills.
  • Ability to work remotely with team members across locations.
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing as per regulations.
