Job summary

SSR is seeking a Civil Engineer in Training II in Florida to join a team of engineers on site design, roadway, utilities, and stormwater projects. You’ll work under PE supervision toward licensure while handling increasing independence.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited degree, have FE/EIT or are ready to obtain Florida EI within six months, and are proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D. The role emphasizes collaboration, precise design, and timely permitting.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.
• FE exam passed and EIT certification; ability to obtain Florida EI within six months.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency (surfaces, alignments, grading).
• Minimum 3 years of civil engineering design experience.
• Experience preparing civil permit applications and addressing agency review comments.

Responsibilities

• Assist on site design, roadway, utilities, and stormwater tasks under PE supervision.
• Prepare civil plans and quantities using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Coordinate with survey, geotechnical, environmental, architectural, structural, and transportation disciplines.
• Support permit applications and responses to agency comments.
• Mentor EIT I peers and progress toward PE licensure.
