Job description

Our Civil Site team is seeking a Civil Designerto be based in our Oak Ridge, TNoffice. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the preparation of designs and drawings for civil site elements of a project. You will need to be working as part of multi-discipline team therefore coordination and cooperation is essential.

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3+ years Civil design experience
• Proficiency using design software such as: AutoCAD and MicroStation
• USA citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the Basic Qualifications the ideal candidate might also have:

• A working understanding of design and/or drafting software packages such as AutoCAD Civil3d andMicrostation InRoads.
• Knowledge and experience in preparing civil site design layouts.
• An understanding of, or willingness to learn, relevant industry standards.
• Effective communication skills including technical writing and verbal communication.

Essential Requirements:

Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing may occur during a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meeting and conferences. May transport light items, such as reports, data products, notebooks, and laptops.

Work Environment:

Work to be completed in Oak Ridge, TN. Work may be completed in secure facilities as required.

Criticality of Attendance:

Must be able to work 40-hour week overlapping the core work hours of 09:00 to16:00 Monday through Thursday in the office in Oak Ridge, TN. Occasional flexibility is available as needed.

Equipment and Machines:

Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies. Personal computer and required CAD software

Other Essential Functions:

• Must have ability to secure and maintain a security clearance as required
• Must pass drug testing
• Must be able to read and write effectively in English
• Must embrace Beyond Zero/Safety ethics to include adhering to safe work practices and standards while performing daily tasks, taking responsibility for own and coworkers’ safekeeping and encouraging others to work safely

Travel requirements - may require some occasional travel
