Position Overview

Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced civil designer capable of independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques and procedures. The role involves working on small to large capital projects in the energy sector, with clear objectives and limited variables, requiring developmental professional experience or equivalent education. The designer will perform non-routine, complex assignments, often under supervision, and may assist junior staff.

Responsibilities

1. Create civil grading and roadway/linear models using Civil 3D and prepare 2D drawing packages.
2. Prepare material quantities from Civil 3D models.
3. Produce project-specific drawings, including existing conditions, soil erosion, site layout, and grading.
4. Develop technical drawings from engineering concepts.
5. Ensure compliance with internal and client policies and standards.
6. Contribute to project completion through related duties.
7. Apply engineering principles and suggest design modifications.
8. Communicate workflow status with project managers and team leaders.

Candidate Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in CAD or equivalent technical qualification.
• At least four years of civil drafting or engineering experience.
• Experience reviewing junior design staff work.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Strong time management and adaptability skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
