Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Civil Design Project Lead / Civil Design Technical Lead in the Raleigh area to drive civil engineering activities for large HVDC and energy infrastructure projects. You will coordinate across project lifecycles and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant, high-quality facilities for power transmission and renewables integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• PE or SE licensure in at least one state is required.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience in large industrial, infrastructure, energy, or construction projects.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, IEEE, NFPA, NESC).
• Experience in EP/EPC project environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate civil design activities across the lifecycle of HVDC and energy infrastructure projects.
• Support project execution and tender activities for domestic and international opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, contracts, and industry standards.
• Manage procurement activities and provide technical oversight of external civil engineering and design providers.
• Monitor scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to support successful outcomes.
• Represent Civil Design in BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design reviews.
• Review and approve civil calculations, drawings, models, specs, and documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and compliance with regulations.
