Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and internship or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with CAD software and willingness to obtain PE licensure.
• Experience budgeting and managing city engineering projects and studies.
• Ability to communicate with staff, officials, contractors and the public.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical design; plans, surveys, and designs roadways, drainage systems, grading and erosion control plans.
• Provides engineering management and guidance for construction work; reviews land surveys and easement documents.
• Assists with department budget preparation; contributes to capital improvement project recommendations.
• Supports data collection, analysis, and reporting for civil engineering studies.
• Assists in managing MS4 permits and stormwater programs with public/private partnerships.
• May draft bid documents and specifications; assists with project management.
• Helps develop long- and short-term department goals and objectives.
• May present concepts, designs, or status updates to city boards or committees.
