City of North Las Vegas seeks a Civil Engineer for the Engineering Design option to plan, coordinate and perform engineering work including design for roads, drainage facilities, water systems and public buildings.

Minimum qualifications include a civil engineering degree, 2+ years of related experience, Nevada driver’s license and NV PE license (or registration within 1 year of hire). Position requires internal coordination and contract oversight in a Utilities department setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related field.
• Two (2) or more years of progressively complex and responsible related work experience.
• Must possess a valid Nevada state driver’s license, or have the ability to obtain, and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Possession of State of Nevada Registered Engineer Certificate. If licensed in another state, registration in the state of Nevada within one (1) year of hire/reclassification.

Responsabilités

• Confers with City staff regarding project requirements including space, cost estimates, and related matters.
• Prepares project designs, cost estimates, specifications and schedules for roads, drainage, water systems, parks and public buildings.
• Administers contracts; coordinates with consultants, architects, and contractors; ensures compliance with specifications and standards.
• Develops engineering solutions for roadways, drainage, water systems, parks, and public buildings.
• Applies hydraulics/hydrology/engineering principles in technical reviews and ensures compliance with laws and regulations.
