Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Orange, CA seeks a Senior Civil Design Technician with 10+ years of experience to join its Discipline team. This on-site role involves developing technical drawings, implementing drafting standards, and supervising CAD staff.

You will perform complex drawings and calculations under minimal supervision, mentor teammates, and ensure schedules and quality control align with Kimley-Horn’s practices and standards. Competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant civil design experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent, associates degree preferred.
• Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings.
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products.
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication and writing skills, eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards.
• Develop technical drawings and plans.
• Quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity; perform calculations as needed.
• Work with minimal supervision on day-to-day tasks.
• Mentor and supervise CAD staff; coordinate work to maintain schedules and quality control.
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.
